DIE TÖDLICHE DORIS — DORIS' JOURNEY THROUGH THE GENRES: FROM FAIRY TALES TO EDUCATIONAL FILMS TO MONSTER MOVIES Friday, March 13, 7:30 PM, Motorenhalle, Wachsbleichstraße 4a (Backyard), 01067 Dresden
Guest: Wolfgang Müller (Berlin); Curation and Moderation: Frank Eckhardt
The artist group Die Tödliche Doris emerged from the West Berlin punk scene, was active as a band until 1987, and was known for its anarchistic and cross-media approach. Founded by Wolfgang Müller (born 1957) and Nikolaus Utermöhlen (1958–1996), it saw itself as a pop star that transcended genres, spaces, and time—without a body, style, or identity. To this end, it worked with dancers, sex workers, activists, professionals, and amateurs. In its films, it was completely at home.
