LIVE KLAPPER FEAT JEŽEK VERSUS STRICTLY STRUCTURAL HEIDEGGER Friday, March 13, 4:00 PM, Motorenhalle, Wachsbleichstraße 4a (Backyard), 01067 Dresden
Guests: Martin Ježek (CZ), Martin Klapper (CZ/DNK); Curation and Moderation: Petr Vašků
In the 1990s, Martin Klapper bleached, toned and scraped Super8 found footage and re-edited it into short films. Now, Martin Ježek re-mixes them through multiple projectors and slides while Klapper improvises a live soundtrack. The result is an immediate audiovisual dialogue between two experimental artists and lifelong friends. After the performance, Ježek´s strictly structural film Heidegger in Auschwitz is screened which speculatively traces the philosophers posthumous visit to Auschwitz, Prague and other places, other times. Here, every frame is fixed and deliberate. Static in movement, kinetic in stillness.
