Films that teach about film represent an experimental exploration of cinema, using the medium's own tools: montages of moving images and sounds. They take an analytical look at cinematic illusions. As co-initiator, lecturer and author Michael Baute presents the platform “Kunst der Vermittlung” (The Art of Mediation), which brings together different perspectives on filmmaking. In this context, he gives an introduction to the works of American avant-garde filmmaker Morgan Fisher (born 1942 in Washington, D.C.), whose films are shown as 16mm film copies.
