Performance PRELIMINARY EXERCISES AND PATTERNS — JAN KULKA'S ARCHEOSCOPE LANDSCAPES Saturday March 14, 7:00 PM, Motorenhalle, Wachsbleichstraße 4a (Backyard), 01067 Dresden

Guest: Jan Kulka (CZ); Curation und Moderation: Petr Vašků

Jan Kulka pushes the boundaries of perception and film in a live performance with his custom-built projector, Archeoscope. It enables to project various formats and frame rates at once and Kulka works with diverse analogue and hand-made techniques or even unusual materials. Patterns is an audiovisual struggle between chaos and order created by printing on a 60mm film base. Preliminary Exercises transposes the genre of found-footage in a Muybridge-esque study which examines the birth and death of the illusion of movement.
