ARCHIVE OF FAMILY AND AMATEUR FILM OF THE RUHR REGION Saturday 18 September 2021 2.30 pm, Motorenhalle

Guests: Geremia Carrara & Johanna-Yasirra Kluhs; Moderation: Frank Eckhardt

In 2018, the "Familien-Archiv des Ruhrgebiets“ (eng: Archive of Family and Amateur Film of the Ruhr Region) was founded by Interkultur Ruhr. A public archive that collects, digitises and preserves analogue film material and makes it available for research and artistic work. The images capture journeys near and far, moments of private as well as collective life of the inhabitants of the Ruhr region. They also bear witness to individual attempts to fabulate with images and create new narratives of everyday life. In a joint programme, Geremia Carrara and Johanna-Yasirra Kluhs trace the physiognomy of the archive and its use.
