Focus Québec DELICATE LIGHT - THE DOUBLE NEGATIVE COLLECTIVE/ MONTRÉAL Saturday 9 July, 7:45 pm, Motorenhalle, Wachsbleichstraße 4a (backyard), 01067 Dresden

Projected from 16mm film reels, we experience the works of the film collective Double Negative. It was founded in 2004 by 12 film artists in Montréal and uses studio and technology collectively. Their manifesto describes them as alchemists who explore unknown landscapes of cinema through coincidences, discoveries and mistakes. The camera acts as a prism. Mike Rollo presents a selection of the members' photo-chemical and material-based films. In his own work, he looks at a radio station, drive-in cinemas and family albums, among other things.
