Angriff der Killerhasen

Joachim Stolze is regarded as a master of the Super8-Slapsticks. In the 1970’s and 80’s he produced numerous short comedys, which very often remind of Laurel & Hardy, simultaneously show the speed of a Benny Hill and timing of the Marx Brothers. The whole thing is spiced is with a lot of satiric passages and commentaries in which the media and/or political themes are openly attacked.

It’s a fine mix, which Stolze serves as if pulled out of a hat. Especially charming is the fact, that in all of his films all the roles are played by students (Joachim Stolze is a teacher), who move freely in front of the camera and do all the witty and stunt parts themselves. This wave of enthusiasm rolls uninhibited towards the audience, which simultaneously experience a time document from the West german province.

Presented and moderated by Manuel Francescon.
