Zapruder - Retrospective Saturday 22 January 2011 19.30
The cinema of the Zapruders filmmakers group is a cinema of a specific kind. The collective from Italy was founded in 2000 and is always looking for new filmlike ways of expression. It has been famous in the European independent film scene by several recognitions at international art and film festivals. Its films remind of early works of David Lynch and are characterised by stilistic and aesthetic examples in the Italian art of the Renaissance and the surrealism. So the Zapruder filmmakers’ group newly defines the limits and the significance of art film. We are very happy to present a small retrospective of early Super8 and 16mm works of Zapruder in the 12th edition of the dresdner schmalfilmtage.
The three founders of the filmmakers group, Nadia Ranocchi, David Zamagni and Monaldo Moretti will personally present their films in Dresden and speak about their artistic work.
