Tinting Toning – Colorization, Toning and Bleaching
This workshop will explore the colour design options of already developed footage. We will work with black-and-white found footage film material and will learn to know the following techniques: Colorization (with colouring agents), toning (replacement of the black image silver by coloured compounds), bleaching (removal of the film carrier's emulsion).
After the techniques' basic principles have been explained, will begin with tests to understand the operating principles. To achieve this, we will selectively mask the individual filmstrips to combine various techniques. We all will work on our own filmstrips which will be projected together after the workshop. Experience with film making is not necessary to participate.
