WORKSHOP FOR KIDS Saturday 20 January 2018 2.00 pm

Understanding cinema and bringing sound to the moving image yourself: these are the goals of this workshop aimed at children between 6 and 12 years of age. Using our zoetrope (wheel of life) we also demonstrate how the moving image arises. We will be drawing images, which will then be transformed into films inside the zoetrope.
Leading on from this we work with real silent movies, such as for example the Laurel and Hardy films.
The children choose something from these silent films, and then produce music, sounds and voices to go with it. Instructed by the film director Frank Sperling, together with the musician René Plath, the short silent films are transformed into little speaking pictures.
