Portrait LUMÍR HLADÍK: DISCUSSED SITUATIONS AND LECTURE: MASTERCLASS Saturday 19 March, 15:45, Runde Ecke at Kultur Forum, Wachsbleichstraße 4a (Frontyard), 01067 Dresden
Guests: Lumír Hladík (CZ/ CA) & Sylva Poláková (CZ) (NFA Prag); Moderation: Frank Eckhardt
Lumír Hladík has lived in Canada since 1981, where he creates works on the borderline between conceptual and action art, drawing and video. However, the beginnings of his performances go back to the 1970s. Lumír Hladík was an active member of the Body Art circle at the time. He was one of the few who put their action art on film. These can be seen as authentic documentaries or as small, experimental miniatures. The character of a cultural landscape or, in contrast, the Canadian wilderness, influences the themes Hladík explores.
