Cornwall. The village of Martin the fisherman is transformed from a fishing village into a tourist idyll. His parents' house now belongs to rich Londoners, his father's vessel sets sail with party tourists. Gradually, conflict arises between Martin, who wants to hold on to the traditional fishing existence, tourists and locals. Mark Jenkin shot on 16mm and developed the film himself. He describes the world of the place in high-contrast but intense images. The film premiered at the Berlinale in 2019.
