Portrait: NAREN WILKS (GB) Saturday 18th January 2014 19.30

Born in 1985, the artist Naren Wilks works with film, video, photography and installations. He studied at the University of the West of England in Bristol, and since 2006 he concentrates on doing short films and installations.

His work has to do mainly with men and locations that don't really exist and he concentrates on the exploration of the unreal. He avoids hyper-realistic applications like CGI animation and prefers to work with low-fi techniques or surveillance camera aesthetics.

By this technology, the resulting effects appear very realistic. On the 15th dresdner schmalfilmtage, Naren Wilks will present his oeuvre and explain his working method to the audience. You only see twice
